Now Itexplains ,the nature of individual performance in an organization.In first dimension mentioned under the individual component isskill variety. Every person has a skill and the way the person usesit determines her performance in an organizations. Task identityand task significance is explain the level of skills that onepossess. If the entire organization can recognize one’s performanceas outstanding or satisfactory, it means the person has identifiedhis task well and worked on it significantly. In my current job, Ihave identified my range of skills and where I am perform my best.I have identified the tasks that I must work on every day, and Imake sure I meet my personal objective on a daily basis. Due to mygood performance, my supervisor has given me autonomy that I enjoywhen on duty. He never comes to pressure me to accomplish certaintasks because I always meet the daily set targets. The feedbackabout results for me always comes as a form of rewards and I has apositive feedback about my performance.
(2) Now I have rated Skill variety as the lowestas we are doing similar work and it has got boring to a largeextent. The company needs to expand the role to include insidesales and sales as some part of our job. My company can takefollowing steps to improve the components:
- Include team in downstream activities – Generation of leads,finding proposals on web-portals, customer research like that.
- Include team in upstream activities – Make us a part of productdemos and customer meetings (mix of frontend and backend job)
- Training – Train us and get us certified with certifications likeShipley certified proposal manager. We can apply the learnings fromthese training.
